Radio IITA Producer Dajie Odok emerged as the โ€˜Best Reporter of the Yearโ€™ Radio Category at the 5th edition of the Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology (OFAB) Nigeria Annual Media Awards.

The event, held on 11 November in Abuja, was organized by the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA), the Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF), and the OFAB Nigeria chapter. It aimed to recognize exemplary journalism that stimulates best practices in adopting agricultural technologies, particularly agricultural biotechnology.

OFAB, since its global inception in September 2016, continues to enhance knowledge sharing and create awareness of agricultural biotechnology in Africa, thereby facilitating quality engagement on the safety and benefits of modern agricultural biotechnology among stakeholders.

Speaking during the award night, the Director-General of the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA), Professor Abdullahi Mustapha, stated that the award ceremony was launched about five years ago, and Nigerian journalists had made the country proud.

Dajie has been working with Radio IITA since 2020.
