Mozambique, 23 March 2022 โ Dajie Odok announced โBest Radio Reporterโ on the continent at the Open Forum for Agricultural Biotechnology, OFAB-Africa Media Awards 2021, themed โBringing Prosperity through Biotechnology.โ
The announcement comes after Odok was named โBest Radio Reporter 2021โ in the radio category at the 5th edition of the OFAB Nigeria Annual Media Awards held in Abuja on 11 November 2021.
This prestigious award which is divided into television, radio, print, and online categories and is open to all journalists in the OFAB-host African countries, aims at unveiling Africaโs best journalists and recognizing exemplary journalism that promotes best practices in science reporting with an emphasis on agriculture biotechnology through responsible, professional, ethical, and effective reporting.
Dajie from Nigeria won the overall Continental best reporter award for radio, Abebe Woldegorgis from Burkina Faso won for print & online, while Jeremie Ouedraogo from Burkina Faso won the TV category and also emerged the overall winner of the 2021 OFAB continental award.
The award event started with the long-anticipated launch of OFAB in Mozambique, being the 9th country to be launched, and the first with a chapter in Southern Africa.
During his welcome speech at the launch in Mozambique, African Agricultural Technology Foundation, AATF Executive Director, Dr. Canisius Kanangire, says he hopes the launch will open more avenues for the advancement of biotechnology in Mozambique as AATF is committed to working closely with the countryโs relevant government ministries, departments, and agencies to contribute to the direction that the government of Mozambique will choose to take in its quest to transform agriculture in that country.
OFAB is an Informative platform that brings together stakeholders in the field of Biotechnology and the public to enable interactions, sharing, and exchange of knowledge, experiences, contacts, and exploring new avenues of bringing the benefits of biotechnology to the agricultural sector. Related
